College is not a trophy to be won, but rather a match to be made.
Frank Sachs, Past President National Association for College Admission Counseling
At Canterbury, we believe the college search should be an exciting season of discovery, not a source of stress. Our full-service College Counseling Program walks alongside each student from the first conversation about possibilities through the moment an acceptance arrives. Our goal is to make the process feel clear, personal, and manageable for students and families alike.
A Personalized Approach
No two students are the same, and no two college journeys should be either. We meet individually with each student to understand their goals, talents, and interests, then build a plan that fits the person in front of us. Along the way, we help students:
- Develop a thoughtful, well-balanced college list
- Navigate and submit their applications
- Reflect on and strengthen their admissions essays
- Prepare for admission and scholarship interviews when they are required
- Recognize and confidently articulate their own strengths and skill set
We keep each student's process on track by checking in regularly, sharing the right resources at the right moments, and answering questions as they arise. Students take the lead in their own application process, exactly as they should, and we are right beside them to keep everything organized and moving forward.

Our Mission
Canterbury School of Florida strives to educate students and families about colleges and about the standards, procedures, and trends that shape admission today.
Our program recognizes the diversity of our students and families, along with the school's responsibility to provide individual guidance. What is right for one student may not be right for another. We maintain an open, unbiased regard for the full spectrum of colleges, weighing competitiveness, size, type, affiliation, and reputation as we help each student find the right fit. Throughout the application process, we support students by advocating on their behalf and by giving colleges accurate, complete information about each student's qualifications for admission.

A Four-Year Curriculum
College counseling at Canterbury is not something that begins junior year. We deliver a full college counseling curriculum for grades 9 through 12, implemented as part of our advisory program. Students engage with age-appropriate lessons each year, so that by the time applications are due, they have spent four years building self-awareness, exploring their options, and developing the skills and habits that lead to a confident, well-prepared senior year.
Charting Your Course: At Canterbury, we believe in empowering students for their next big educational decision.
At the start of a Canterbury education, we foster critical thinking, self-discovery, and exploration. Whether it’s through personalized counseling, hands-on experiences, or mentorship, we equip our students to navigate their educational journey confidently. Because every choice matters, and we’re here to guide you toward a future that aligns with your aspirations.
