When students join the Canterbury community, they become a part of the family for a lifetime. For nearly 50 years, Canterbury School of Florida has been welcoming a diverse group of people into the Canterbury Alumni Association. We now have a powerful network of alums working across all industries throughout the country and around the world. All graduates are automatically welcomed into the Alumni Association and encouraged to stay connected with the school through volunteering their time, professional expertise, financial resources, and enthusiasm.

Aaron Wall '04 was featured in a story on the University of Florida homepage highlighting his role in streamlining seat repairs in Ben Hill Griffin Stadium by engineering special brackets in-house. Aaron graduated from the University of Florida in December 2015 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Musician Zack Biss ‘15, followed his dreams of becoming a Nashville country star by attending Belmont University in Nashville, TN. Just a few months after arriving, he got the opportunity to interview country star Hunter Hayes before the CMA Awards.

As a young scientist, I spend my days reading, writing, and searching for novel methods to investigate the systems that characterize our planet. While I’m still finding my exact niche in academia, I am grateful every day for the verbal and quantitative skills I developed in my classes at Canterbury. Furthermore, the passion for science and discovery passed to me through the school’s fabulous teachers (special shout-out to Mr. Wyness!) has been an unparalleled motivator. The path of achievement and success for me started in the courtyard of Canterbury’s Lower School and continued to the halls of the Upper School. Students with individual talents were highlighted, and their star was made to shine brighter, not just in the halls of Canterbury, but in the community as well.
My experiences at Canterbury have prepared me for the long and winding road to medicine. When I am in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit taking care of a sick premature baby, it is the teamwork among the doctor, nurse, therapist and parents that allow that baby to survive and ultimately make it home. This same lesson of success through common goals is what Canterbury teachers demonstrated when I was a student, and what they continue to exemplify today. Academically, Canterbury was every bit as challenging as college. I first felt a spark for a life in journalism at Canterbury. . . the project that had a profound influence on me was that Senior Capstone Writing Project (a.k.a. Senior Thesis). I researched and presented on The Future of Television News. The writing skills I learned at Canterbury definitely placed me at a distinct advantage over my peers at Columbia. The beauty of Canterbury is that it is small enough to allow you to do anything and learn anything you want (within reason, of course), yet big enough to have the resources to make it possible. I remember how it was the norm to be on a variety of athletic teams, while also doing the school play or participating in one of the many clubs. People in college won’t believe you when you say you did all of those things in high school, but believe me, you are far better off for having done them.
