CRUSADERS CELEBRATE 2019 SPIRIT WEEK

The Canterbury Crusaders really showed their school spirit during Homecoming week!

Upper School students enjoyed weeklong festivities by decorating hallways and Homeroom doors and with themed dress down days like American Monday, favorite college, mathletes-athletes-gamers, and cowboys-rockers-rappers.

The Lower School students and teachers celebrated Spirit Day on Wednesday and supported the Pep Squad during their morning performance at Flag. That evening, they brought their banners and paraded across the football field just before our high school girls took to the field for the Powder Puff game.

Thursday there was Lunch on the Lawn at the Upper School, a Canterbury tradition of catered lunch and games like dodgeball in the gym and carnival games by the fields.

And then there was Friday...

Upper Campus students were adorned in blue and gold to show their school pride and gathered in the gym for a Homecoming pep rally. There were cheers and relay games pitting middle school, high school, and teachers and staff against each other. Our high schoolers won, but the biggest win was the flash mob! Check out the video below. Wait for the crowd to go wild when Mr. Hall joins the mob.

The 2nd Annual Homecoming Parade included students from PK3 through 12th as well as parents and teachers. They paraded on foot, on bikes and scooters, in cars, trucks, and golf carts, and even on the Marine Studies boat.

Our varsity football team played International Community School and took home a win! They were cheered on by fans the Pep Squad and our cheerleaders.

The Homecoming dance was themed "The French Quarter". Upper School students danced and sang into the night to close out this incredible week. Congratulations to our 2019 Homecoming King and Queen!
