Humanitas cum Misericordia: “Enlightenment with Compassion"

CSF's educational focus on character and service values is exemplified by the Canterbury LEADS program, fostering leadership, character, and a service-oriented mindset to prepare students as responsible global citizens who connect classroom learning to real-world issues and cultivate relationships for applying skills beyond school with guidance from LEADS advisors.

Honor Code

Students are taught the Honor Code beginning in PK3 and its principles of honesty, respect, and consideration are reinforced through graduation, shaping Crusaders’ interactions and decisions with peers and adults and fostering an environment of integrity and respect conducive to academic learning and personal growth.

Canterbury creates unique opportunities for students to see their community and its needs then make a difference through service.

Fatima, Class of 2024

The Class of 2024’s 28 seniors completed over 4,234 service hours in four years.

Community service is a core component of the Canterbury education, aligned with the school's mission to cultivate responsible stewards of the world, instilling in students a sense of obligation to improve their communities. Beginning in PreK and continuing through graduation, students engage in a wide range of service projects, fostering empathy, leadership, and a commitment to making a difference locally and globally, with all members of the community actively participating in service initiatives tailored to each developmental stage.

Above and Beyond

Our program is purposefully structured in such a way that there are projects and initiatives that fit nearly any student schedule. Chances to volunteer are everywhere. With opportunities to serve after school, in the evenings or on the weekends, there is a way for every Canterbury student--from a varsity athlete to a committed Thespian or musician, to a concerned citizen looking to create change in the community--to make a difference.

Service Learning

Canterbury's longstanding commitment to community service provides students with hands-on opportunities through LEADS and CSF, fostering relationships that promote independence and growth. Students emerge as empathetic problem solvers, empowered to actively shape the world they envision.

Draw the Circle Wide

Canterbury has an array of offerings in many different areas. At Canterbury we promote student engagement in their areas of comfort, but also encourage, offer, and support opportunities to learn something new, outside of your comfort zone.
