The Marine Studies program at Canterbury flourishes due to the Knowlton Campus location, where students have direct access to the estuary and a living laboratory to explore. Proximity to Tampa Bay, Florida's largest open water estuary, and a host of environmental and scientific institutions gives our school unique access to community resources. Students and faculty benefit from Canterbury's relationships with:
- Cousteau Divers. Canterbury School is the only school in the world to be named a Cousteau Divers partner school.
- College of Marine Science at the University of South Florida
- Eckerd College
- U.S. Geological Survey
- Florida Wildlife Research Institute
- Tampa Bay Watch
- Tampa Bay Estuary Program, and many others.
These organizations provide curriculum materials, facilities, and scientific expertise to assist us in educating students and conducting research. The classroom experience expands into field work, class trips, research projects, and interactive learning.
