Collin Moorefield Canterbury Fund Information

The Collin Reed Moorefield Canterbury Fund will support an endowment for student scholarships and/or campus projects in Collin’s name, with guidance from the Moorefield family, to honor Collin, as per their wishes.

Additionally, the Hough Family Foundation has generously offered a matching pledge of up to $250,000 to the Canterbury Foundation to honor Collin:

1. The Hough Family Foundation will make gifts matching, dollar for dollar, gifts made by others, to the Canterbury Foundation dedicated and restricted to the Collin Reed Moorefield Fund.  Such matching gifts are capped at $250,000 unless the cap is increased in writing by the Hough Family Foundation.

2. It is understood that the Collin Reed Moorefield Fund will be used either to fund an endowment for student scholarships or to contribute toward needed capital improvements on either campus of The Canterbury School.  The ultimate determination of how these funds will be applied will be made by the Moorefield family jointly with the School’s administration and Board of Trustees.

3. The matched funds are restricted for use by The Canterbury Foundation in funding a permanent endowment.  If the matched funds donated by others are determined to be used to fund an endowment for scholarships, then the Hough Family Foundation funds shall also be used for this purpose, thus creating a Collin Reed Moorefield Scholarship Fund. If the matched funds donated by others are used for capital improvements or any other purpose other than an endowment in perpetuity, then the Hough Family Foundation matching funds will be designated as a tribute to Collin Reed Moorefield, in accordance with the policies of the Canterbury Foundation.
